Some thirty five interns of the 29th Badge of the National Defence College Nigeria, visited ANTIC 08 March 2021 within the framework of a regional study tour under the theme: “Assessing Cameroon’s Digital Economy and national development.”
During the Study Visit that lasted over two hours, ANTIC’s Director General, Prof. Ebot Ebot Enaw, showcased Cameroon’s achievements and challenges in the Development of its digital economy and the role the Agency plays in the maintenance of public order and state security in the face of mounting challenges posed by cybercrimes.
He underscored that “with Cameroon and Nigeria progressively increasingly access to broadband Internet coupled with real-time borderless exchange of information, issues related to cybersecurity and cybercrime have made cybersecurity a complex transnational issues that requires global cooperation in ensuring a safe cyber community. In this light, Prof Ebot Ebot Enaw noted that, the meeting provided a unique opportunity for Cameroon and Nigeria to strengthen cooperation ties in the domain of ICTs.
Meanwhile, the Director of Academic Research and Analytical Support, at the National Defence College Nigeria, Cammando A.O. Olugbode, Team Leader of the visiting delegation, expressed the readiness of his country to forge cooperation ties with Cameroon in the domain of cyber security and the development of the digital economy.
ANTIC was the first among 14 Cameroonian institutions to be visited by the Nigerian Delegation within the framework of the regional study tour that will take them to other African countries.
