On March 21 2011, there was a one day training workshop on developing synergies related to ICT research at the conference hall of the of the Public Contract Regulatory Board (ARMP) building, Dragages, Yaoundé. Organised by ANTIC in collaboration with the International Information Management Corporation (IIMC) Ireland coordinating the IST-Africa project funded by the European Commission under the seventh framework Program (FP7), twelve (12) researchers from five (5) State Universities and one Private University participated in the workshop.

Due to exorbitant costs that are beyond the reach of many governments around the world, including our country, some public administrations admit the use of pirated versions of software. Not only does this usage constitute a violation of intellectual property, it also exposes our information systems to various risks, pirated versions are usually not updated, nor secure.
